Commercial Kitchen Installation does not end with the installation of all appliances. The real work starts with the commissioning of your new kitchen and is aimed to test the full functionality of all installed equipment and systems.
Gas and Electrical Safety Sign-Off
A Gas Safe registered engineer will complete the commissioning and carry out a full test on all gas appliances checking for correct pressure, leak free connections and safe flue operation. All electrical work will be checked by an electrician to ensure that all circuits are correctly wired with suitable earthing and that all isolator switches operate correctly.
Equipment Performance Testing
Each piece of installed equipment is tested within its full operating parameters i.e. ovens are set to their maximum temperature and then reduced; combi steamers are placed on pressure test and then released; extraction plant is switched on and airflow measured to confirm it is operating at the design flow.
Drainage and Water Supply Checks
All sinks, dish wash machines and floor gullies are tested at full flow to attempt to block up the drains. The temperature and pressure of hot water is tested at all outlets.
Staff Handover and Demonstrations
Your staff must be shown how to use the equipment, including how to clean it and what to do in case something trips. This can take the form of a formal handover to the staff, or alternatively a written manual can be left with the kitchen. It is expected that any formal handover to staff can be rescheduled if necessary.
Final Paperwork and Compliance Records
